01. SHOULD YOU ELOPE?
If you're looking for an adventure with your love, a beautiful backdrop, and an intimate exchange of vows, eloping is for you!
Eloping offers the chance to break away from traditional wedding venues, late nights going through guest lists and the stress of traditional wedding planning, PLUS choosing to elope with NMC means most of the planning process is taken care of.
02. PICK A LOCATION
I would say that the most difficult part of the elopement process is choosing the location you want to elope. There are countless beautiful places to choose from, but with your vision and my help, I can provide you with a personalized guide with 5 dreamy locations that include hikes, additional adventures, vow exchange locations and nearby lodging (all with pictures to help bring your vision to life!)
03. SEASON & TIMELINE
Whether you want to elope in 4 months or have tons of time for scouting and planning, I can work with you to ensure that your day is as unforgettable as possible. If you dream of Yellowstone in the fall or Alaska in the summer, we can work together to make your elopement dreams come true. Busy season, weather and travel capabilities all go into the process of choosing your elopement date.
04. GUEST LIST
Ultimately, the guest list for your elopement should reflect your vision for the day and include those who will enhance the experience and celebrate your love and commitment to each other. If you choose to have a truly intimate day, with just your photographer(s) in tow, I will always offer 'We Eloped!' announcement cards with pictures from your sneak peeks, for you to send to friends and family after!
05. LOGISTICS
Planning assistance means any and everything I can help with. This includes assistance booking your transportation and lodging, helping with ceremony set up, suggestions for adventure appropriate attire (like hiking boots for the trip to your vow exchange location), a back-up plan in the event that weather or any unforeseen circumstances don't allow for your initial plan and more.
06. LEGAL DETAILS
As your photographer and elopement planner, I will handle getting you permit and fee information, help you with getting your marriage certificate and an officiant (if that's the path you want to go for your elopement) and any additional details that need to be covered based on your location and the adventures you choose for your big day.
If you could get married anywhere, where would you choose?
FAQ
Are the travel expenses included in your packages or covered additionally?
Travel expenses are not included in packages because they vary so differently based on where you choose to elope. Travel expenses will be: transportation, lodging, rental car and meals during the duration of my stay. If you choose to get elope on a Saturday in the US I will spend Thursday traveling, Friday scouting locations and getting all of my equipment ready, Saturday on a beautiful adventure with you, photographing your elopement and fly back out Sunday evening.
I'm not going for anything extravagant, will fly economy, stay in a 3 star hotel or Airbnb, rent whichever car is best for the location you choose to elope in and will use the average cost of meals in the area to decide costs.
If you choose a second photographer I will choose someone local to the area so that you don't have to pay any additional travel fees to have them cover your elopement.
What if we want something more extreme for our elopement?
No matter what kind of adventure you have planned, if I have the ability and equipment to photograph it, I am always down for a great adventure.
If you choose to do a helicopter ride, sunset boat cruise or anything that requires you to pay per person, remember to budget for me too - travel expenses don't cover these kinds of tickets and I wouldn't want something to go wrong if I bought my tickets separately.
We want to include our dog into the elopement ceremony and photos, is that okay?
I absolutely love dogs and I think it's a beautiful idea to include them in your elopement. While I have no qualms about it, I would recommend making sure your location allows dogs and that you include at least one other person in your elopement who will be able to take care of / watch your dog while you exchange vows and get all of the pictures that don't include them.
How long does it take to recieve the photos after the elopement and how will those be delivered?
Your entire gallery will be delivered in 4-10 weeks with highlight sneak peeks being delivered no more than a week after your elopement. I will mail you a USB with your full gallery and you'll also be able to view it online and order prints, wall art, cards and keepsake books through the shop in your gallery.
Do we need a wedding officiant for our elopement? If yes, can you recommend one?
An officiant is not necessary for your elopement if you're okay with not being legally married on your elopement day. While not all officiants are down for a 5 mile hike or 45 minute drive into the wilderness, if you'd like to have an officiant I am more than happy to help you find one that works with the vision you've planned for your big day! Just remember to budget $300-$800 for one you love!
What if we legally don’t get married on our elopement day?
That's perfectly okay! You have other options for getting legally married and you can keep your elopement day as your wedding anniversary (I won't tell anyone!) - You can choose to get married in the city / state you chose to elope or save all of the paperwork for when you get back home from your adventure. Most states will allow you to file a marriage certificate and you can choose to get married at a courthouse and have them file it for you (the same way your officiant would!) Keep in mind that a lot of places require you to file x number of days before your wedding, so if it's not possible for you to travel there (or they don't allow filing online) it might be best to wait until you get home- or get legally married before you elopement.
